In Build 2016, a developer event hosted by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella demonstrated the intention to implement bot technology integrated with Skype and Cortana.

In April, a series of beta versions of Skype using bots were released. Since the spring version, it was possible to note the potential of Skype Bots.

The Skype team has introduced a series of bots to inspire developers. Currently, the team is focused on creating Skype Bots that provide interesting experiences in a variety of scenarios. You can communicate with a bot the same way you would when talking to someone else. The more you use bots, the more they will learn and anticipate your needs.

In July, it announced three major changes, including group functionality, to make their conversations even more useful. Now, instead of switching between different applications or clicking through multiple web pages, the bot does the work for you. Bringing a bot to a group conversation allows you to do things together with your friends, family or co-workers like never before. Using a bot in a group, you and your friends can collaborate on a task such as planning a trip or choosing a restaurant or even playing trivia together.

With bots, you can also bring cards with detailed information and pictures of travel destinations to directly enter your conversations

One such example is the Skyscanner bot, a leading global travel search company, to help simplify travel planning tasks. The Bot Skyscanner allows you to search for flights individually or as part of a group, returning prices and route options within Skype, based on suggestions from sites such as “Paris in July” or “Spain”.

It will also be released in conjunction with StubHub, one of the biggest ticket markets in the world, a fun and easy way to find your tickets to an incredible event. Add the StubHub Bot to find tickets for some of the artists, athletes, artists and life experiences-all in one chat. StubHub for Skype makes finding your next great experience as easy as chatting with friends.

The IFTTT Bot will keep you informed with automated messages from the apps, devices, and sites you love based on the triggers of your choice, including breaking news, weather, social media notifications, and more.

To check out all these great new bots and more, make sure you’re on the latest version of the Skype app for Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, or Web.
